The 2014-2015 school year marks my 32nd year here at St. Ann! I am a graduate of Antioch High School and Austin Peay State University. I have beem married to Chris for 34 years and we have one son, Nick. Nick is an alumni of both St. Ann and Father Ryan High School. He has a degree from Middle Tennessee State University and is now working for Regions Bank. We have 3 pets...a dog named Tubby, a cat named Hendrix, and a bearded dragon named Aussie. Aussie is a frequent visitor to our classroom!
In my spare time I enjoy travelling, reading, and cross stitching. One of my favorite travel destinations is the Bahamas via cruise ship! Someday I hope to visit Australia, Rome, and Alaska.
I believe that education within the Catholic school should be a proclamation of the Gospel message integrated into action through programs and opportunities that help develop students spiritually, academically, socially, and physically. It should recognize the importance of supporting parents, the primary educators of their children, and strive to provide a faith-centered, nurturing environment that teaches the foundations of the Catholic faith, as well as building a sense of community, providing a place of worship, and developing a concern for social justice. I view my relationship with my students not only as one of teacher, but also as an advocate. I support them and provide guidance as they learn from their successes and their failures.
